CIS Administration
To ensure that the data of the CIS is correct, reliable and up-to-date, it is essential that the data be managed efficiently.
The CIS administration system consists of a number of modules that provides for data management, securities and maintenance of lookup tables.
Table Maintenance provides the data administrators with the functionality to maintain the table of surveyors, system users, trigometrical values and all lookup tables.
The Data Viewer enables the data administrators in the Chief Directorate to manage the data of their offices without extensive knowledge of Oracle and SQL. This is also cost effective as we can downsize the usage of expensive Oracle data administrators.
This also provides an opportunity to provide database literacy to staff members within cadastral surveys.
The CIS Toolkit provides tools to the data administrators to manage the integrity of the alphanumeric data of cadastral surveys, and to investigate and edit data within the database.
The Bug Logging System provides a close interphase between the users of software and programmers. Enhancement requests, wishes and bugs (in new software) can be logged with this system by any user. Each entry receives a log number and users are provided feedback on feasibility, priority rating and implementation, or in the case of a bug, when it has been fixed.
