Parcel Reservation

When new land parcels (suburbs or extensions) are laid out, each land parcel must be assigned an available number. Parcel Reservation is a system that manages these number assignments. A number is reserved for use by a particular surveyor. Numbers already allocated or reserved cannot be used for new land parcels. A typical land parcel number is TOIR0000 00000005 000001. If, after a period of 3 years, the land surveyor has not used the parcel he/she has reserved, the unassigned numbers are made available for re-assignment. This is the first step in electronic reservation of land parcel numbers and will eventually cater for aplications by e-mail or on the Internet.

This system is currently being tested and is not available for digital reservation yet.
