The data was exported from the Informix databases as text files (image data). These text files were used to create temporary tables in Oracle. These temporary tables were exact copies of the tables in the Informix databases. Several stored procedures were then written to clean up the data, e.g. translating old region codes (e.g. C0700) to new region codes (C0070000). After this was done, the data from the different tables had to be translated to fit into the new table structures in Oracle.
